Nair Strategy is a bit of a forked path for Banjo - it limits his potential KO power as compared to the typical Banjo which exclusively uses Forward Air in the air, but it leads to more variety in his attacks and softens his bad matchups. His ability to follow it up with an attack depends on what ground behaviors you've taught him - most competitively-trained Banjo amiibo follow it with Forward Smash, but I'm wondering if it wouldn't be more effective to hit with Forward Tilt as that comes out quicker. Oddly enough, the Banjo amiibo can use Neutral Air dragdowns, which is unusual for an amiibo. However, if you let him learn it on his own by leveling up (he picks it up around level 43 in my experience), he uses it fairly well. This often disrupts the amiibo AI - currently, competitive amiibo trainers don't recommend using Grenade because items are very disruptive to training. In addition, he recognizes the hitbox of the attack as being far larger than most humans would, so sometimes he'll throw out Wonderwing and only hit the sourspot - good enough for an amiibo, because they don't know sourspots exist.īanjo has built-in tendencies to use Grenade in the air for some reason. He doesn't actually know when he's run out of Wonderwing, so teaching him to spam it doesn't end well. Stock or Timed or Stamina matches without items unintrusive stages (usually BF or Omega stages) the character of your amiibo (in this case, Banjo), and never a computer opponent.
